Repurposing Overalls into a Fun Purse

With my cousin about to have her first baby, a boy at that. I've found myself going through all the old baby clothes. With my youngest being over 1 now, baby clothes are a thing of the past. Needless to say, I've been picking through the clothes, sorting out the things I wanted to keep. Upon looking through all the bags, boxes and dressers I found that my kids had a TON of overalls. I'm southern, there's nothing cuter then a baby in overalls and little boots.

Anyhow, I picked up a cute little pair and thought "This would make such a cute purse.". I figured it would be a simply make and was into it before I even had all my supplies out. Now, I'm no expert sewer and I will never claim to be able to sew in a straight line. For real! Don't ask me to do anything in a straight line.

This is my first attempt at the overall purse, I think it turned out pretty good. Though, I have some ideas for future overall purses in different styles. Enjoy the very first one. Sorry, I didn't get photos of sewing it up but I can tell you, I did it by hand and used a back stitch. If you don't know the stitch or how to sew, here's a video here (Basic Hand Sewing). I don't know this person, but they did a job and I found her information useful for my needs.

Now on with it already! Geezz.

    1. Well that's ok, most my attempts at crafts end up looking like Pinterest failed photos. However, this was super easy and fairly quick. Good luck, I hope you do give it go. :) thanks so much for stopping by.

  2. GAH, this is SO CUTE I want to squoosh it's cheeks! I totally pinned it and that is the Fated Destiny of my baby's pink and white overall skirt! My 3 yr old, Lola, loves putting her animals in bags/purses ever since she got her Purse Horse as a gift. That, by the way, is an AWESOME alternative to swearing, say it out loud "Purse Horse" it will totally due if you stub your toe around kids! hahahaha
